This 14-piece insert is designed for Power Grid (Recharged) and all expansions: The Stock Companies, Fabled Expansion, The Robots, The New Power Plants—Set 1, The New Power Plants—Set 2, Company Boards (included with The Stock Companies), High-Voltage DC Transmission Passage C, and all promo cards. These expansions along with the base game fit perfectly in the original game box with no lid lift.
The power plants tray has six compartments: three for the power plant decks (original and alternate decks 1 & 2) and three for all other cards of this size: resource refill summary (including those from the expansion maps), payment summary, and all other promo cards. Ten removable dividers are provided to help with organization. Cards may be sleeved or unsleeved. However, due to the extra thickness of sleeved cards, the power plant decks may have to be split across multiple bins and some of the dividers will need to be set aside.
The robots tray holds each section of the robots in a separate compartment. (This prevents wear and tear on the pieces.) There is also a place for the auction hammer, discount token, black and white barriers, and the High-Voltage DC Transmission Passage C tiles.
The banker tray can be taken out of the box and given to the player designated as the banker. This tray also holds the share value tokens, which are handed out during game play when using The Stock Companies expansion.
The companies tray holds the six player boards. These are part of The Stock Companies expansion but can be used in regular game play as well.
The two resource trays (coal, oil; trash, uranium) snap together with magnets to form a single long tray that can be placed at the edge of the board alongside the resource track. Six small trays contain each player's 22 houses.
Finally, there are bins for the large cards from the Fabled Expansion and the small cards from The Stock Companies. These cards may be sleeved (60µm max) or unsleeved.
As of May 2025 there are eleven expansion maps for Power Grid. The cards accompanying these maps can be stored in the main game box alongside the power station cards. The actual maps are, of course, kept separately in the collector's boxes that are sold with them.
