This colorful insert has been designed for Robo Rally: 30th Anniversary Edition (2024) and all available expansions: Master Builder, Thrills & Spills, Chaos & Carnage, Wet & Wild, Contamination, and Turn & Burn. (Currently, there are 5 gameboard expansions. There is room for up to 4 more in the Anniversary Edition box for a possible total of 9 expansions without box lift.)
Each of the eight robots has a dedicated bin with a sliding lid that holds every component its player will need: robot, cards (20), power cube, and archive and checkpoint markers. The player cards are meant to be sleeved. (I recommend King Sleeve 60µm sleeves. Unsleeved will work, but this will leave some room within the robot bin for components to rattle. Thicker than 60µm will not fit!) Individual bins for each player make setup and cleanup a breeze!
The card tray can be used with sleeved or unsleeved cards. There is a dedicated tray for the Master Builder expansion, and a final tray for all remaining game components, such as the priority token, flags, and reboot markers.
The optional bonus piece serves two purposes: It makes it much easier to remove the game boards from the box without damaging either, and it fills up the remaining space in the box so that it's safe to stack other games on top. The bonus piece can be sized to fit any number of game board expansions, from zero to seven. (Don't include Master Builder in this count—just the game board expansions.) As of April 2025, there are five game board expansions for Robo Rally. If more expansions are released at a later date, a replacement bonus piece can be ordered separately.
To use the bonus piece, spread it flat on the table. Center the game boards and instructions sheets on the cloth sheet, then lock the handles in place. Now the boards can be easily lifted in and out of the box with one hand, and others games can be stacked safely on top of the Robo Rally box.
