Recently revised for the new Constantinople faction!
After countless hours and many iterations, the ultimate Scythe storage solution is finally available for Scythe enthusiasts everywhere. This insert is designed for the legendary game box and will accommodate the following: Scythe: Base Game, Invaders from Afar, The Wind Gambit, The Rise of Fenris, Constantinople Faction (all new Scythe content from Duel of Meloch), Board Extension, Modular Board, Complete Rulebook, Metal Coins, Metal Mechs, Realistic Resources, Scythe Encounters (43–74), Combat Dials for each faction, and all Promos #1–17. (This is everything officially available for Scythe except the neoprene playmat and the World of Scythe art book.) All of the above fits perfectly with no box lift!
The heart of the set is the 10 faction trays, which hold every component for each faction. Not only does this make it easy to setup the game—just hand a faction tray to each player—it also means that new players can readily assist with cleanup. Having a designated place for every component helps to ensure that nothing gets lost. This set includes individually colored trays for the five base factions and five expansion factions.
The insert comes in two configurations, either for the original Stonemaier villagers or the 3rd-party Meeple Source villagers. (Be sure to get the "Scythe Character Meeples - 2021 Series". IMPORTANT: Don't order the older style Meeples. They won't fit!) If you choose the Meeple Source option, there will also be dedicated storage for a few of their other products: Enlist Tokens, Flags & Traps, and large Action Markers. Other third-party offerings may find a place in one of three miscellaneous bins, but we cannot guarantee that they will fit.
There is one large resource tray for each side of the table allowing easy access to resources (standard or realistic), coins (cardboard or metal), and encounter tokens. If you are wondering which of the various metal coin packs to buy, you will want the Metal Coin set (80 coins) and Promos #9 ($50) and #10 ($2). The other promo coins (#15–17) are unnecessary.
The five card trays will store the Combat (both decks), Factory, Objective, and Encounter Cards (including all official Promo cards), and the Resolution and Airship tiles. Cards may be sleeved (60µm max) or unsleeved. Combat cards are an exception. As these see a lot of use, they can be sleeved up to 110µm (We recommend premium Ryker sleeves).
Encounter cards 1–42, designed by Jamey, are stored separately from cards 43–80, which are mostly fan-inspired and tend to have a strong impact on game play.
There is a single tray for everything related to the Automa. It will accommodate one set of sleeved cards or two sets of unsleeved cards.
Three miscellaneous bins provide additional storage for obsolete Scythe components (original cardboard coins, etc.) or additional third-party components that you may have purchased. Other various pieces are meant as quality of life upgrades—a bin for the star lord, and stands for the Resolution and Airship tiles.
The Legendary insert is massive—36 total pieces, printed in 11 different colors. Many of these pieces cannot be shown due to spoilers, but be assured: there is a place for everything, and the insert is more awesome than the pictures show.
Update - August 2026:
With the release of the Duel of Meloch, our Scythe inserts had to be significantly revised to accommodate the new Constantinople Faction, Player Board, and alternate Combat Deck. Every effort was made to minimize the number of cascading changes so that owners of our 1.0 inserts could have a valid upgrade path to 2.0, and we are very happy with the results.
There are three upgrade paths for those who already own one of our Scythe Inserts:
- Original Box 1.0* → Legendary Box 2.0 (26 pieces)
- Original Box 2.0 → Legendary Box 2.0 (21 pieces)
- Legendary 1.0* → Legendary 2.0 (15 pieces)
* If your insert was purchased before August 2026, it is a 1.0 version.
