After countless hours and many iterations, the ultimate Scythe storage solution is finally available for Scythe enthusiasts everywhere. This insert is designed for the original game box and will accommodate the following: Base Game, Invaders from Afar, The Wind Gambit, Metal Coins, Metal Mechs, Scythe Encounters (43–74), and all Promos #1–17 (Automa bin can be sacrificed to accommodate the additional power dials). Realistic Resources can also be used, with one small caveat—see below.

The heart of the set is the seven faction trays, which hold every component for each faction. Not only does this make it easy to setup the game—just hand a faction tray to each player—it also means that new players can readily assist with cleanup. The designated place for every component helps ensure that nothing gets lost. This set includes individually colored trays for the five base factions and for Albion and Togawa.

The insert comes in two options: the original Stonemaier villagers or the 3rd-party Meeple Source villagers. (Search the web for "Scythe Character Meeples - 2021 Series".) The "36-piece Set of Enlist Tokens" by Meeple Source will also fit in the faction trays. Any other offerings by Meeple Source cannot be stored in the Original Box, though there is a place for most of them in the Legendary Box insert. (See that listing on this site.)

There is one resource tray for each side of the table allowing easy access to resources, coins (cardboard or metal), and encounter tokens. If you are wondering which of various metal coin packs to buy, you will want the Metal Coin set (80 coins) and promo sets #9 ($50) and #10 ($2). The other promo coins (#15–17) are unnecessary. If you do not have the $2 coins, you can store a second stack of $1 coins instead.

Due to the large size of the Realistic Resources, a few of these must be stored in an extra tray designed for that purpose. But during gameplay all these can be used as intended in the resource bin.

The four card trays will store the combat, factory, objective, and encounter cards (including all official promo cards) and the resolution and airship tiles. Cards may be sleeved  (60µm max) or unsleeved. Encounter cards 1–42, designed by Jamey, are stored separately from cards 43–74, which are fan-inspired and tend to have a strong impact on game play.

There is a single tray for everything related to the Automa. It will hold one set of sleeved cards or two sets of unsleeved cards. This bin can be sacrificed in order to accommodate all seven power dials.

This insert is not compatible with the following Scythe products: The Rise of Fenris, Modular Board, or the Complete Rulebook. The Board Extension is technically not compatible with this insert, but it will fit fine in the original box if you don't mind a little bit of box lift. All of the above will fit perfectly in the Legendary box with the Legendary insert, also available on this store.

This 22-piece insert for the original Scythe box was designed with the possibility of upgrading to the Legendary box and insert in mind. Only 7 pieces (mostly smaller trays) must be set aside when you upgrade. The remaining 15 pieces, including all the faction trays, can be transferred to the Legendary box.
